Born and raised in the great state of Oregon in the Mid-Willamette Valley. I started waterfowl hunting about 38 years ago in a pair of Levi blue jeans and a H & R single shot 20 gauge that I bought with money I earned from selling magazine subscriptions. I didn’t have a hunting mentor or even know anyone that hunted waterfowl, so I learned by trial and lots of errors. Needless to say, through my years of hunting, I learned the importance of great gear. Not that great gear makes you a great hunter but it certainly doesn’t hurt. Although I hunt just about everything available, waterfowl is my true hunting love. I find the greatest joy in teaching youth hunters about the sport as well as experienced hunters new to waterfowl. I could truly just hang out in a duck/goose blind all day teaching people the ins and outs of waterfowling and, of course, to watch a good birddog take care of business.
