Born and raised in rural western New York, my father started me in the outdoors by hunting cottontails and squirrels. Upon relocating to the Rocky Mountains 20 years ago, I discovered the vast waterfowling opportunities available along the western edge of the Central flyway. Huge flocks of migrating mallards and Canada geese soon became my passion. Corn fields, pit blinds, warm water sloughs became my residence for 4 months out of the year.
Waterfowling in Colorado can get downright frustrating. The birds get educated in a hurry. In order to be successful a hunter has to rely on good, durable equipment to fool wary birds. This is where I discovered DOA Decoys. The realism of these decoys has fooled many a late season flock of geese. The paint and flocking has withstood the abuse of numerous seasons and still look almost brand new.
I am also a volunteer with the Colorado Division of Wildlife’s Hunter Outreach program, Ducks Unlimited, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
